Work Permit Receiver (WPR) – Rate: Determined after interview
Role Overview
A Work Permit Receiver (WPR) is a key professional in industrial, construction, and oil & gas projects, responsible for managing all work permits and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. In high-risk environments, such as Aramco-approved operations, the WPR ensures that work is carried out safely and only by authorized personnel. By monitoring permits, coordinating with supervisors, and maintaining accurate documentation, WPRs prevent accidents, enforce regulatory compliance, and contribute to smooth project execution. Their role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency and minimizing risk to personnel and equipment.
Core Responsibilities
The WPR handles the full lifecycle of work permits, from issuance to closure. Responsibilities include reviewing work requests, confirming that all necessary safety precautions are in place, and ensuring that workers understand potential hazards. The role also involves monitoring ongoing tasks to guarantee adherence to permit conditions and safety protocols. WPRs maintain detailed records of issued and closed permits, communicate task progress with supervisors, and report any irregularities or safety issues promptly. Coordination with safety officers, engineers, and operational teams is essential to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Candidates must have prior experience in Aramco-approved or equivalent industrial projects. A strong understanding of work permit systems, industrial processes, and safety regulations is essential. Applicants must hold a valid EOLB permit and have experience managing all four types of permits. Attention to detail, discipline, and the ability to work in high-pressure, safety-critical environments are key. Good communication and teamwork skills are required, along with physical fitness for on-site inspections and monitoring. Having complete documentation, including a valid IQAMA, passport, Muqeem, body fitness certificate, and Chamber registration, is mandatory.
