Instrument Technician / Electrical Technician / Millwright Technician
Description
The roles of Instrument Technician, Electrical Technician, and Millwright Technician are critical in offshore and commissioning projects. These highly skilled positions ensure the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex industrial systems. Technicians with commissioning experience are especially valuable because they help start up systems safely, ensure operational efficiency, and verify that all equipment meets industry and client standards, particularly for high-profile clients such as Saudi Aramco.
Instrument Technicians handle calibration, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring accurate readings and operational reliability. Electrical Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards. Millwright Technicians focus on the mechanical assembly, alignment, and maintenance of rotating and stationary machinery. Together, these roles contribute directly to project success, safety, and long-term operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Instrument Technicians install, calibrate, and maintain process control equipment and instrumentation on offshore platforms. They conduct tests, monitor system performance, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.
Electrical Technicians carry out installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems. They identify electrical faults, ensure continuity and safety, and support commissioning activities to guarantee operational readiness.
Millwright Technicians handle mechanical systems, including pumps, turbines, and rotating machinery. They assemble, align, and maintain equipment, conduct inspections, and support commissioning teams to verify that machinery operates efficiently and safely.
All technicians must work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to complete commissioning tasks, maintain documentation, and uphold strict offshore safety regulations.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have commissioning experience, strong technical knowledge, and practical skills in their respective fields. Instrument Technicians should understand process control systems, instrumentation calibration, and troubleshooting techniques. Electrical Technicians need experience with wiring, electrical panels, and offshore electrical systems. Millwright Technicians should be proficient in mechanical assembly, alignment, and maintenance of industrial machinery.
Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, physical fitness, and the capacity to work under challenging offshore conditions are essential. Effective communication and the ability to follow complex technical procedures are critical for all three roles.
