These positions are critical in maintaining workplace safety and compliance with industry standards, especially in construction and industrial projects. The Safety Officer, Fire Watch/Manhole Watch, and WPR roles ensure that all safety protocols are enforced, risks are minimized, and work is conducted in accordance with Saudi regulations and Aramco-approved standards. Key Responsibilities
Safety Officer: The Safety Officer oversees all on-site safety operations, conducts regular safety inspections, ensures compliance with safety policies, and trains staff on safety procedures. They monitor work activities to prevent accidents and respond promptly to any emergency situations.
Fire Watch / Manhole Watch: These roles involve continuous monitoring of high-risk zones such as confined spaces, welding areas, or construction sites where fire hazards may exist. Personnel ensure that proper safety measures are in place, monitor environmental risks, and report any unsafe conditions immediately. They are responsible for preventing accidents and maintaining emergency readiness at all times.
WPR (Work Permit Receiver): WPR professionals manage work permits for high-risk activities, ensuring all documentation, approvals, and safety measures are in place before work begins. They coordinate with different teams to enforce compliance, track permit issuance and closure, and act as a bridge between management and operational teams for safety oversight.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must be Samac or Ibn Zahr approved, demonstrating prior experience in similar industrial or construction projects. Key skills include strong risk assessment abilities, emergency response knowledge, and excellent communication and coordination skills. Familiarity with Saudi Arabian labor regulations and safety protocols is essential. Candidates should be capable of proactive monitoring, decision-making under pressure, and meticulous documentation of safety procedures.
