Role Overview
The Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety procedures at the project site. The role ensures that all workers and contractors comply with established safety rules and regulations. This includes continuous monitoring of site activities to detect unsafe practices and eliminate potential hazards. In Aramco-related and other major industrial projects, safety compliance is strictly enforced, making this position essential for protecting both workers and company assets. The Safety Officer plays a key role in building a strong safety culture across the workforce.
Core Duties
The Safety Officer conducts daily site inspections to ensure all safety protocols are being followed correctly. They are responsible for identifying hazards, preparing risk assessments, and ensuring proper preventive measures are in place before any task begins. Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings is also part of the daily routine to educate workers about safe practices. The Safety Officer investigates incidents, prepares detailed reports, and recommends corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Coordination with engineers, supervisors, and site management is essential to maintain full safety compliance across all operations.
Required Competencies
Candidates applying for this role must have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, particularly in construction and industrial sectors. A minimum of 5+ years of experience is required, with preference given to candidates who have worked on Aramco-approved projects. Strong communication skills are essential for conducting training sessions and reporting safety concerns effectively. The candidate should be familiar with risk assessment methods, emergency response planning, and safety auditing procedures. Certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications are highly preferred. The ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently is also required.
