These job roles are responsible for ensuring that all site activities are performed safely and in accordance with approved industrial standards. A Safety Officer monitors workplace conditions and enforces health and safety regulations to prevent accidents. A Work Permit Receiver ensures that all work activities are properly authorized before execution, while a Fire Watch is responsible for monitoring hot work activities to prevent fire hazards. The purpose of these roles is to protect workers, equipment, and facilities while maintaining uninterrupted project operations in high-risk environments such as petrochemical plants.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Officer is responsible for conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures approved by clients such as SABIC and Petrochemical authorities. They also conduct toolbox talks, prepare safety reports, and investigate incidents when required. The Work Permit Receiver ensures all permits are properly obtained, verified, and followed before any work begins. They coordinate with supervisors and site engineers to confirm safe working conditions. The Fire Watch monitors welding, cutting, and other hot work activities to ensure no fire risk occurs during operations and immediately responds to any emergency situation if needed. All roles require strict attention to safety procedures and constant communication with site management.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates applying for these positions must have strong knowledge of industrial safety procedures and site operations. Experience in petrochemical or construction projects is highly preferred, especially with approved certifications such as PETROKEMYA or SABIC authorization where required. Safety Officers should have knowledge of risk assessment, HSE standards, and emergency response planning. WPR candidates must understand permit systems and documentation processes clearly, while Fire Watch personnel must be alert, disciplined, and capable of handling emergency situations. Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential for all roles. Prior experience in long-term industrial projects is an added advantage.
