Introduction
Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas industry continues to create strong employment opportunities for skilled safety and permit professionals, especially in projects. With ongoing development in major fields like Abqaiq, companies are actively recruiting experienced workers who can ensure safe and compliant operations. A new urgent requirement has been announced for Work Permit Receivers (WPR) and HSE Officers under a reputed contracting company. This long-term project offers immediate mobilization, making it an excellent opportunity for qualified candidates seeking stable employment in the Kingdom’s energy sector.
Job Role Overview & Importance
The roles of WPR (Work Permit Receiver) and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Officer are extremely important in ARAMCO projects, where strict safety regulations and permit systems are mandatory. The WPR ensures that all work activities are properly authorized, documented, and executed under approved safety permits. Meanwhile, the HSE Officer is responsible for maintaining workplace safety, preventing hazards, and ensuring full compliance with ARAMCO safety standards.
In high-risk environments such as oil fields and industrial plants in Abqaiq, these roles are essential to maintain safe working conditions, reduce operational risks, and ensure uninterrupted project execution. Without proper permit control and safety monitoring, industrial operations cannot proceed safely or efficiently.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be responsible for ensuring that all site activities comply with ARAMCO safety procedures and permit-to-work systems. The WPR will handle issuance, verification, and monitoring of work permits, ensuring that no job begins without proper authorization. They will also coordinate with supervisors and safety teams to ensure that all documentation is accurate and updated.
The HSE Officer will conduct regular site inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective safety measures. They will also conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and risk assessments to ensure workers follow proper safety protocols. In addition, they will be responsible for incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and ensuring all safety equipment is available and functional on site. Both roles require constant communication with project management and strict adherence to ARAMCO safety policies.
Skills, Experience & Eligibility
Applicants must have prior experience in oil & gas, industrial construction, or ARAMCO projects. For WPR positions, ARAMCO certification is mandatory, along with strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems. HSE Officers must be ARAMCO-approved with a solid understanding of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk management practices.
Candidates should be familiar with industrial site operations and capable of handling high-pressure work environments. Previous Gulf experience will be considered an advantage. Only qualified and certified professionals will be shortlisted, as these positions involve critical safety responsibilities in live industrial facilities.
