Job Role Overview & Importance
A Fire Watch worker plays a critical safety role in industrial and construction sites, especially during hot work activities such as welding, grinding, and cutting. The main responsibility of this position is to monitor work areas for any fire hazards and ensure immediate response in case of emergency. In high-risk environments like Jubail industrial projects, Fire Watch personnel are essential for preventing fire incidents and ensuring compliance with strict safety regulations. Their presence significantly reduces risks and helps maintain a safe working environment for all site workers.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The selected candidates will be responsible for monitoring designated work areas during hot work operations to ensure fire safety compliance. Daily tasks include observing welding and cutting activities, identifying potential fire hazards, and maintaining constant vigilance for smoke or fire risks. Fire Watch personnel must ensure that fire extinguishers and safety equipment are readily available and functional at all times. In case of emergency, immediate action must be taken according to site safety procedures. Additionally, workers must maintain clear communication with supervisors and safety officers and ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed throughout the shift.
Skills, Experience & Eligibility
Applicants with previous experience in safety, construction, or industrial site work will be preferred, but dedicated and alert individuals with basic knowledge of site safety may also apply. Candidates must be physically fit and capable of standing for long hours while monitoring work activities. Strong attention to detail and quick response in emergency situations are essential for this role. A valid Haddad ID is required for eligibility. Applicants must also possess valid documentation and be ready to work in industrial environments under strict safety conditions.
