The Safety Officer role is focused on maintaining and enforcing safety standards within industrial construction and maintenance environments, particularly in SATORP-related operations. The purpose of this position is to ensure that all site activities are conducted safely and in compliance with approved safety procedures and regulations. Safety Officers are responsible for identifying hazards, conducting inspections, and ensuring that all workers follow proper safety guidelines. In high-risk environments such as oil refineries and petrochemical plants, this role is essential for preventing incidents, protecting workers, and maintaining operational continuity. Their presence ensures that safety remains a top priority throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
The selected Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring all site activities and ensuring compliance with established safety standards. Duties include conducting daily safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions to eliminate risks. The officer will also ensure that all workers are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. In addition, they will coordinate with supervisors and site engineers to ensure safe execution of tasks and maintain proper documentation of safety reports. Safety Officers must also investigate incidents, provide recommendations to prevent recurrence, and support emergency response procedures when required. Maintaining discipline, awareness, and strict adherence to safety protocols is essential for this role.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must have prior experience in industrial safety roles, preferably with exposure to SATORP or similar petrochemical projects in Saudi Arabia. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment techniques, and emergency response procedures is required. Candidates should be able to conduct site inspections, prepare safety reports, and enforce compliance effectively. Familiarity with construction and oil & gas environments is highly desirable. In addition, candidates must possess valid documentation such as IQAMA, Muqeem copy, chamber certificate, and fitness records. Strong communication skills, alertness, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments are essential for success in this role.
