The Safety Officer (Aramco Approved) plays a critical role in ensuring safe working conditions across industrial and construction project sites, particularly in high-risk environments such as oil and gas operations near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position is essential for maintaining compliance with strict safety regulations and preventing workplace accidents. The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing safety policies, monitoring site activities, and ensuring that all workers follow approved safety procedures. In large-scale projects, especially those under Aramco standards, safety is a top priority, and this role becomes a key pillar in maintaining operational discipline. Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer is responsible for conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure that all safety measures are properly implemented. They must ensure that all workers are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and strictly following safety guidelines. Another key responsibility includes conducting safety inductions and toolbox talks to educate workers about risks and preventive measures. The Safety Officer also monitors high-risk activities such as lifting, scaffolding, and hot work to ensure compliance with Aramco-approved standards. In case of unsafe conditions, the officer has the authority to stop work immediately until the issue is resolved. Additionally, they must maintain detailed safety reports, document incidents, and coordinate with supervisors and management to improve overall site safety performance.
Skills and Knowledge
A qualified Safety Officer must have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, especially Aramco safety standards. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in industrial or construction safety roles. Practical knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures is essential. Strong communication skills are required to effectively guide workers and coordinate with site management teams. The ability to remain alert and make quick decisions in emergency situations is also very important. Applicants must hold a valid IQAMA and preferably Aramco approval certification. Experience working in large-scale industrial projects in Saudi Arabia or similar Gulf countries will be considered a strong advantage.
