Introduction
Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector is one of the fastest-growing employment markets in the Gulf region, especially in large oil, gas, and petrochemical plants where safety standards are extremely strict. During shutdown and maintenance operations, specialized safety personnel are urgently required to ensure hazard-free working environments. One such opportunity is currently available for Fire Watch professionals at an industrial plant in Saudi Arabia. This short-term shutdown project offers a great chance for experienced safety workers to earn competitive income while working in a controlled industrial environment.
Job Role Overview & Importance
The Fire Watch role is a critical safety position in industrial shutdown projects where welding, cutting, and hot work activities are continuously performed. The main responsibility of a Fire Watch worker is to prevent fire hazards by monitoring high-risk areas and ensuring strict compliance with safety procedures. At Arrazi Plant, this role becomes even more important due to the nature of petrochemical operations, where even a small negligence can lead to serious risks. Fire Watch personnel act as the first line of defense in maintaining plant safety and ensuring smooth shutdown operations without incidents.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The selected Fire Watch candidates will be responsible for continuously monitoring designated work areas during shutdown activities. This includes observing hot work operations such as welding and grinding to ensure no fire risks are present. Workers must remain alert at all times and immediately report any unsafe condition or potential fire hazard to the safety supervisor. They are also responsible for ensuring fire extinguishers and emergency equipment are available and ready for use. Strict adherence to safety instructions, site rules, and supervisor guidance is mandatory. Fire Watch personnel must stay focused throughout their shift, as even a small mistake can impact overall site safety.
Skills, Experience & Eligibility
Applicants should ideally have prior experience working as Fire Watch or Safety Watch personnel in industrial environments. A basic understanding of industrial safety procedures and hazard identification is highly preferred. Candidates must be physically fit and capable of working long hours in demanding site conditions. The ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain discipline in a high-risk environment is essential. Fresh candidates with strong awareness of safety practices may also be considered, although experienced workers will have an advantage. Good communication skills and alertness are key qualities for this role.
