Introduction
Saudi Arabia’s oil, gas, and petrochemical industry is one of the most advanced and safety-sensitive sectors in the world, with major facilities operating under strict international and Aramco-linked safety standards. Among these facilities, SASREF projects in Jubail require highly skilled safety professionals to ensure continuous compliance and safe operations. A new urgent opportunity is now available for experienced Safety Officers who can work in a SASREF-approved environment on a long-term basis. This role is ideal for professionals who want stable industrial employment with strong safety responsibilities and competitive hourly rates.
Job Role Overview & Importance
The Safety Officer position in SASREF projects is a highly responsible role focused on protecting workers, equipment, and industrial operations from potential hazards. In petrochemical plants like SASREF, safety compliance is not optional—it is a strict operational requirement. The Safety Officer ensures that all activities are performed according to approved safety procedures, minimizing risks in high-pressure and high-temperature industrial environments. This role is essential for maintaining operational continuity, preventing accidents, and ensuring compliance with refinery safety regulations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The selected Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring all site activities and ensuring strict adherence to safety standards within the SASREF facility. Daily tasks include conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented immediately. The Safety Officer will also ensure that workers are using proper PPE and following safe work procedures during operations such as maintenance, shutdown, and construction activities. In addition, the role involves conducting toolbox talks, reviewing work permits, and ensuring compliance with refinery safety protocols. Reporting incidents, preparing safety reports, and coordinating with supervisors and project management teams are also key responsibilities.
Skills, Experience & Eligibility
Applicants must have prior experience working in industrial or oil & gas safety environments. Experience in refinery or petrochemical projects will be highly preferred due to the strict safety standards at SASREF. Candidates should have strong knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures. A valid Iqama and all required documentation are mandatory. The employer requires multiple supporting documents, including passport, Muqeem, service agreement with chamber, sponsor-related documents, national address, and CR-related paperwork. Strong communication skills, discipline, and the ability to work in high-risk environments are essential.
