Description
A Rigger is a skilled professional responsible for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy equipment and materials in industrial and construction environments. In major industrial hubs like Al Jubail, riggers play a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient operations, particularly during shutdown projects where timing and precision are crucial. Working at facilities such as Hadith Plant, riggers coordinate lifting activities using cranes and specialized equipment. Their work directly impacts safety standards, operational efficiency, and project timelines. This role requires technical expertise, physical strength, and strict adherence to safety protocols in high-risk industrial environments across Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
The Rigger is responsible for preparing and securing loads before lifting operations, ensuring that all rigging tools and equipment are inspected and safe for use. Clear communication with crane operators using standard hand signals is essential to guide lifting and placement activities accurately. During shutdown work, riggers must perform tasks efficiently within limited timeframes while maintaining strict safety standards. Monitoring load stability, ensuring proper balance, and preventing accidents are key duties. Additionally, riggers must follow all site safety procedures, participate in toolbox meetings, and coordinate closely with supervisors and safety teams to ensure smooth and safe operations throughout the project.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have relevant experience as a rigger, especially in shutdown projects, as this experience is highly preferred. A valid TUV certification is mandatory, along with a valid Iqama and supporting documents. Strong knowledge of rigging techniques, load handling, and safety procedures is essential for performing the job effectively. Physical fitness is important, as the role involves demanding manual work in challenging conditions. Candidates should be able to understand instructions clearly and communicate effectively with team members and crane operators. Having an experience certificate and an updated CV further strengthens the candidate’s profile and increases the chances of selection.
