Forklift operators play an essential role in logistics and material handling within large industrial plants. This position is suitable for experienced operators who are familiar with handling forklifts of different capacities (5, 7, and 10 tons) and who can work under strict safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The forklift operator will be responsible for operating heavy forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the project site. This includes loading and unloading goods, moving equipment to designated areas, and ensuring proper stacking and storage of materials. Operators must inspect equipment before use and report any mechanical issues immediately to avoid operational delays.
In addition, the role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, especially in high-risk industrial environments such as SABIC projects. Operators must coordinate with site supervisors and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow. Maintaining accuracy in handling loads and preventing damage to equipment or materials is a key responsibility of this position.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have prior experience operating forklifts of 5, 7, and 10-ton capacity, preferably within SABIC or similar industrial environments. A valid TUV forklift operator certification is mandatory for this role. Strong knowledge of safety procedures, load handling techniques, and equipment inspection is essential.
Applicants must also possess valid documentation including Iqama, Muqeem, Chamber registration (CR), and body fitness certificate. Physical fitness, alertness, and the ability to work in industrial conditions are important qualities for success in this role. Candidates with Gulf experience and proven expertise in material handling operations will be preferred for long-term assignments.
