Description
The role of a Rigger is a cornerstone in the construction and industrial sectors, particularly within large-scale, Aramco-approved projects. Riggers are responsible for the safe movement, lifting, and installation of heavy machinery, structural components, and equipment on construction sites. Their work ensures that all operations involving heavy loads are conducted efficiently and without risk to personnel or property. The importance of Riggers in the industry cannot be overstated, as they contribute directly to project timelines, safety compliance, and overall operational success. Both RIGGER III and RIGGER II positions require advanced technical knowledge, precise execution of tasks, and adherence to international and company-specific safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Riggers manage all aspects of lifting and rigging operations, including preparing slings, chains, hoists, and other equipment. They conduct thorough inspections of lifting gear, ensure load calculations are accurate, and supervise the positioning of materials. On-site collaboration with crane operators, engineers, and other construction personnel is crucial to ensure safe and effective operations. Additionally, Riggers maintain accurate documentation of each lift, report hazards or equipment malfunctions, and strictly follow Aramco-approved safety procedures. Their role is proactive, requiring them to anticipate risks, coordinate with multiple teams, and ensure that all lifting and transportation tasks are executed smoothly and on schedule.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must possess strong technical skills, extensive rigging experience, and familiarity with safety regulations. Riggers should be able to read and interpret blueprints, load charts, and site plans accurately. Physical fitness, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments are essential. Both RIGGER III and RIGGER II candidates are expected to demonstrate problem-solving abilities for complex lifting tasks and possess certifications recognized in the industry. Knowledge of PPE, safety protocols, and emergency procedures is mandatory. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are crucial, as Riggers must coordinate seamlessly with engineers, crane operators, and other site personnel to ensure operational efficiency.
