Description
MRC has announced an urgent requirement for multiple safety-related positions for a major industrial project at SABIC. These roles are essential for maintaining high safety standards during shutdown and operational activities within petrochemical facilities. A Safety Engineer leads the planning and implementation of health and safety strategies, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Safety Officers supervise daily site activities and enforce safety procedures. Permit Receivers coordinate work permits to ensure that all job tasks are authorized and safely executed. Fire Watch personnel monitor high-risk work areas to prevent fire hazards and respond quickly in emergency situations. Together, these roles form the backbone of industrial safety management, particularly in high-risk shutdown environments.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Engineer is responsible for developing safety plans, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with SABIC and shutdown safety standards. Safety Officers monitor site activities, conduct inspections, deliver toolbox talks, and ensure that workers use proper personal protective equipment. Permit Receivers manage the permit-to-work system, verify job scope, coordinate approvals, and ensure safe execution of maintenance and shutdown tasks. Fire Watch personnel are assigned to monitor hot work areas, detect fire risks, maintain firefighting equipment readiness, and immediately report unsafe conditions. All positions require strict adherence to safety protocols, documentation procedures, and company guidelines to maintain a safe and controlled work environment.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidates must have relevant shutdown and SABIC project experience. The Safety Engineer should possess strong knowledge of industrial safety systems, hazard identification, and risk management procedures. Safety Officers must demonstrate practical experience in enforcing HSE regulations within petrochemical environments. Permit Receivers require a clear understanding of permit-to-work systems and coordination procedures. Fire Watch personnel should be trained in hazard monitoring and emergency response practices. Required documents include Ajeer registration, valid Iqama, NIBOS certification, Third Party Card (TUV), and experience certificate.
