Role Overview
Black Shield International Company is urgently hiring experienced Safety Officers for a short-term project in Jubail. This role is critical in maintaining workplace safety and ensuring compliance with local and international standards. Safety Officers safeguard personnel, equipment, and operations by implementing strict safety protocols, performing risk assessments, and monitoring work activities. This position is particularly important in high-risk environments such as shutdown operations, where safety management is essential to prevent accidents, maintain operational efficiency, and meet regulatory requirements. Candidates with NEBOSH certification and prior experience in Sabic shutdown projects are highly preferred.
Core Responsibilities
The Safety Officer will oversee and enforce safety standards across the project site. Responsibilities include conducting daily safety inspections, identifying workplace hazards, and implementing preventive measures. Officers will ensure all personnel follow safety regulations, coordinate emergency drills, and investigate incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions. Maintaining comprehensive safety records, preparing reports for management, and providing safety training to team members are also key duties. Coordination with contractors and project management ensures that all safety protocols are consistently applied, promoting a secure and efficient working environment.
Required Skills and Expertise
Applicants must hold NEBOSH certification and demonstrate hands-on experience with industrial shutdown projects, preferably within Sabic operations. Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, emergency response procedures, and risk management is essential.
