WPR (Work Permit Receiver – Non Aramco)

Description

The Work Permit Receiver (WPR) is a vital position in shutdown and industrial maintenance projects, especially in high-risk environments such as oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities. This role ensures that all work activities are properly authorized through the permit-to-work system before any task begins. The main purpose of the WPR is to maintain strict safety compliance, control jobsite risks, and coordinate between different departments to ensure smooth execution of shutdown operations. In the Jubail shutdown project, the WPR will be responsible for handling multiple work permits and ensuring that every activity follows approved safety procedures. This role is essential for preventing accidents, maintaining discipline on site, and supporting efficient project completion within the given timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

The WPR will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and managing all work permits required for site activities. This includes coordinating with supervisors, safety officers, and engineers to ensure that all documentation is complete and approved before work begins. The role requires verifying isolation points, safety measures, and hazard controls to confirm that the job site is safe for workers. The WPR must ensure that all workers fully understand the scope of work and associated risks before starting any task. Regular monitoring of site activities is required to ensure compliance with permit conditions. Any unsafe act or violation must be reported immediately, and work should be stopped if necessary to prevent accidents or hazards.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidates should have strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems, especially in shutdown or turnaround projects. Experience in oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical industries is highly preferred. The applicant must understand risk assessment procedures, hazard identification, and isolation systems. Good communication and coordination skills are essential for working with multiple teams on site. The ability to handle pressure and manage several permits simultaneously is also required.
