Job Role Overview & Importance
Riggers play a crucial role in construction, mechanical, and industrial projects, especially in heavy lifting operations. Their main responsibility is to safely move, secure, and position heavy equipment using lifting tools and machinery. In large-scale projects like SABIC, rigging work is essential for maintaining safety and ensuring that equipment installation is done accurately. Without skilled riggers, lifting operations cannot be performed safely, which makes this job highly important in the industrial field.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The selected candidates will be responsible for handling rigging activities on-site under the supervision of engineers and supervisors. Rigger 3 workers will assist in basic lifting operations, while Rigger 2 workers will handle more advanced rigging tasks and equipment coordination. Daily responsibilities include attaching and securing loads, inspecting lifting gear, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed before lifting operations begin. Workers must communicate clearly with crane operators and team members to ensure safe and efficient execution of tasks. Strict adherence to safety standards is mandatory at all times.
Skills, Experience & Eligibility
Applicants must have prior experience in rigging work, preferably in industrial or construction environments. Basic knowledge of lifting equipment, safety procedures, and signal communication is essential. Candidates must be physically fit and capable of working in challenging site conditions. Previous experience in SABIC or similar projects will be an added advantage. A valid passport, iqama copy, and medical fitness certificate are required for application. Fresh candidates are generally not preferred due to the technical nature of the job.
